Prediction for Hull City vs. Sunderland: “Things will get worse.”

The writers for The72 predict the Hull City vs. Sunderland match before the Championship match on Boxing Day.
Hull City enters this match fresh off a close loss to Bristol City on Friday night. However, the Tigers maintain their position in the top six going into the Boxing Day games, and Liam Rosenior’s team will be looking to win this game.

Sunderland’s last game was a complete disaster. Undoubtedly, Michael Beale’s reign didn’t get off to the worst possible start as they lost 3-0 to Coventry City. The Black Cats’ deficit to the play-off spots in the Championship has widened.

Here are some of our writers’ predictions for the match…

Kelly-Hansford, Thomas
“Hull City is a well-trained team that can cause a few issues for any team in the second division. The Tigers may try to take advantage of the unfavorable sentiment surrounding their opponents in an attempt to capitalize on Sunderland’s recent loss.

“Beale requires an answer. The players appeared lackluster over the weekend, and this might be a difficult afternoon given the short turnaround and lack of opportunity to address issues in training.

“Either side could win, but I’m betting on the hosts to win by as many points as possible.”

Prediction for Hull City vs. Sunderland: 1-0
James Ray
“Hull’s loss in the game over the weekend will hurt them. They let it slip in the end, and they need to make sure it doesn’t happen again if they want to qualify for the playoffs this year.

However, they have a fantastic opportunity to recover here. After a challenging start to Beale’s term, Sunderland’s atmosphere is gloomy, and considering how supporters greeted his appointment, it does seem like he’s already up against it.

“He will be confident in guiding a turnaround on Wearside, though, given his reputation in coaching circles was acquired through merit. Regretfully, I believe that things will worse before improving.
