Spurs receive an injury boost as a star player undergoes late testing and might start against Brighton…
According to Standard Sport, Tottenham Hotspur’s Cristian Romero is set to return to the starting lineup for their upcoming match against Brighton.
The defender, who had a tight hamstring against Everton, is set for a late evaluation but is expected to play alongside Ben Davies.
This news comes as a comfort to Spurs fans, who were anxious about Romero’s injury status after he was replaced at halftime in the last game.
Due to a lack of top-tier center-back alternatives, Ange Postecoglou mainly relies on Romero’s presence in the squad.
With Micky van de Ven out with a hamstring injury, the Argentinean’s absence would have exacerbated Tottenham’s defensive issues.
Ange had already encountered a circumstance in which both Romero and VDV were absent. Following the Chelsea defeat, Romero received a three-game suspension, while the Dutch defender was unavailable due to injury. During this time, the Spurs were winless in four games.
Spurs have won three successive games, vaulting them back into the top four and over Manchester City.
