A teenage West Ham player becomes a transfer target for AC Milan
Following the injuries to important defenders for AC Milan, West Ham’s Thilo Kehrer has become a possible transfer target, per Milan News.On December 27, the Milan-based news source stated that Kehrer is thought to be a viable alternative following the proposal of a contract in the previous few days.
Injuries to Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu and Malick Thiaw mean Milan will be searching for a new defender in the January transfer window, with Kehrer one of several names put forward.
Kehrer has only made four Premier League appearances for David Moyes’ team this season. It would make sense for West Ham to complete the sale, collect the money, and use it elsewhere if the estimated £10 million price tag [Claret & Hugh, 27 December] is met.
In Moyes’ defence, Nayef Aguerd, Kurt Zouma, and Konstantinos Mavropanos have shown to be the best central alternatives, with Vladimir Coufal being the first choice right-back. As a result, Kehrer has had difficulty getting minutes in any situation that he has been assigned to.
A £10million deal would see the Hammers break even on their transfer investment after they signed Kehrer from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2022, but with that price reportedly a minimum, they could be set to make a profit
Milan is the most recent team to be associated with the German player’s potential departure from the London Stadium in January, following reports that he may move back to his own country.
