Reasons for Setback in New Orleans Saints.
The New Orleans Saints have suffered a setback when they learned that linebacker Nephi Sewell will miss the rest of the season because of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that requires surgery. The terrible news was verified by coach Dennis Allen on Monday, providing insight into the extent of Sewell’s injury.
The linebacker’s season ended abruptly on Sunday during the Saints’ triumph against the Bucs. Just about 12 minutes remained in the second quarter when Alontae Taylor intercepted Baker Mayfield, forcing Sewell to be taken off the field.
Throughout 16 games this season, Sewell recorded 15 tackles and one forced fumble. His allocation of playing time was 266 special teams snaps, 57 defensive snaps, and three offensive snaps.While addressing Sewell’s injury.
Coach Allen did not elaborate on running back Alvin Kamara’s ankle ailment while discussing Sewell’s injury. According to Mike Triplett of New Orleans. Football, Allen said, “We’ll see how he responds throughout the week,” raising questions about Kamara’s recovery status.
