Report: Three clubs fighting to sign £27.5m Wolves player this month after another disappointing loan
After struggling to receive enough playing time while on loan at Benfica this season, Wolves winger Goncalo Guedes has become a target for three clubs.
After spending the second half of the previous season on loan, the 27-year-old returned to the Portuguese powerhouses for a second stint in the summer.
The footballer had two knee surgeries during his stay at the club due to injuries.
In an attempt to give him a fresh start, Wolves made the decision to loan him back there for the 2023–2024 campaign. Guedes has made just 13 appearances for a total of 271 minutes, thus that has not been the case.
It appears that Guedes may be making a change of scenery this month.
Goncalo Guedes is being eyed by three teams as Wolves plot their next move.

Granted, Guedes was still healing from his most recent knee surgery before the new season began, but since the end of September, the winger has been healthy, and Roger Schmidt hasn’t given him many regular minutes.
With players like Rafa Silva, Joao Mario, Angel Di Maria, David Neres, Petar Musa, Arthur Cabral, and Casper Tengstedt, he is unable to break into the team, and it appears that Wolves may now try to assist a new move.
O Jogo reckons that things might take a sharp turn for the worst for him shortly.
The athlete is now unaware of his circumstances, but it appears that Villarreal and another Spanish team are interested in him. He is being pursued by an unidentified Saudi team as well.
Given that Marcelino Toral, the manager of Villarreal, collaborated with Guedes while at Valencia, the team’s interest is captivating.
Guedes was acquired by Wolves, but it’s a bad bargain.
Although Wolves has recently added some excellent players, they have also added some very bad ones, and the Guedes trade may be the worst in a long time.
After being connected to the team for a while, the Portugal international signed a contract with the team, raising expectations.
However, Guedes didn’t always play well while wearing a Wolves jersey, and Julen Lopetegui had declared shortly before the winger’s departure that he didn’t want to stay at the team.
Guedes’ stint at Benfica on loan has not been productive, and Wolves now appear to be facing a reasonable financial loss on a player who cost £27.5 million, assuming he continues to refuse to play for the team.
It was rumored a few months back that Guedes was still planning to move out of Molineux permanently.
