Rotherham United have recalled a top man from loan spell..

Kioso impressed in the Fens, and the Championship strugglers have now invoked a clause that allows him to return to South Yorkshire.

In the summer, the former Luton Town player joined Posh on a season-long loan.

Despite his performance, Posh manager Darren Ferguson said that he feared Kioso would be recalled.

Ferguson remarked after his side’s 3-2 New Year’s Day win over Derby County, “I hope it’s not PK’s last game as he’s been fantastic for us.” He’ll have to return, but we’ll keep talking and see what we can come up with.

“We’re hoping we can do something, but it’s not in our control.”

Kioso joined the Millers on a three-year deal from Luton Town in the summer of 2022, but had a tough and injury-plagued debut season.

After sustaining a groin injury early in his career in South Yorkshire, the unfortunate defender was then sidelined by an ankle injury.

In his first season with the club, he only made 13 appearances.
