Wolves ramp up efforts to land £30m striker but there’s one ‘main obstacle’ right now..
According to the publication, PSG is eager to part ways with the player, either on loan or permanently.
He is not someone Luis Enrique relies on, and he has only played eight minutes of football this season.
Ekitike is thought to have a soft spot for the Premier League, and Wolves appear to be looking to help him realize one of his ambitions.
However, there is a problem for the club. While they have up their efforts in recent days to sign him, Ekitike’s wage is exorbitant. At the time, it appears like Wolves will be unable to compete with Ekitike’s salary in Paris. This is the “main impediment.”
This move would need the player to agree to a salary decrease, or possibly PSG would need to pay a percentage of his salaries if it was a loan.
Ekitike loan-to-buy could be a wise decision.
The Ekitike connections are exciting since the child has enormous potential. For one reason or another, things didn’t work out for him at PSG, but he looked like a serious prospect at Reims.
Ekitike famously came close to joining Newcastle United before joining PSG for £30 million, therefore there is a good probability he may look for a new club this month.
Wolves should ideally sign Ekitike on loan for the rest of the season with the option to buy.
Wolves must still be cautious with their spending right now. Having Ekitike on loan would be ideal for the club and its current predicament, but salaries appear to be an issue at the moment, so it has to be seen if there is any wiggle room.
