Reading star reportedly on trial with Championship club..

FORMER Reading’s Ovie Ejaria is allegedly on trial with Championship club Plymouth Argyle after being released by the Royals last month.

Ejaria’s contract with Reading was terminated, and according to rumors, the midfielder is presently training with Argyle in preparation for a free transfer if the trial is successful.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Royals from Liverpool for about £3 million in 2020, did not play for the club for more than a year after a promising start in Berkshire ended in disappointment.

He was dropped from the squad during the last year owing to a combination of injuries and disciplinary issues, first under manager Paul Ince and then again under Ruben Selles this season.

He joined the Royals on loan from Liverpool in 2019, as one of five loan players that helped the team avoid relegation under manager Jose Gomes.

He joined for another loan stay for the 2019/20 season, and Reading decided to make it permanent following several impressive performances.
