REPORT:Portsmouth Obstacle removed with Huddersfield town, Sheffield Wednesday, QPR and other premier League teams after starlet
Deal with the former Chelsea player is starting to become more apparent this week. The Brentford teenager has been given game time in the Premier League this season.
This month, Pompey is still completely focused on transferring him and now that a roadblock to potentially signing Brentford’s Myles Peart-Harris has been removed, the Blues can now focus on finding new players to help them resume their promotion quest.
The 21-year-old is considered as the kind of forward-thinking player who may provide a struggling attempt to win the Championship a shot in the arm, thus acquiring his offensive prowess is a priority during the winter window.
Pompey will need to exercise patience in their pursuit of players, though, as manager John Mousinho has recently provided an explanation for why numerous of the players on the club’s recruitment hit list this month, and are currently operating at Premier League and Championship outfits, often as back-up to established faces or coming through the ranks.
WIth the African Cup of Nations and Asian Cup taking place this month, sides have lost players to the competitions meaning they don’t want to leave themselves short of options. Other top-flight outfits are taking stock of their squads while away on training camps amid the Premier League mid-season break.
Meanwhile, with two rounds of the FA Cup being played in January, teams are looking to fringe players as they shuffle their packs for knockout action.
And Peart-Harris is also familiar with Pompey’s transfer mastermind in Hughes. It was the Pompey sporting director who engineered the Londoner’s loan move to Forest Green last year, shortly before his Fratton arrival.
With a loan deal that might lead to an agreement, a strong history of developing young talent in recent seasons and Peart-Harris having a realistic chance of regular football will be another bargaining chip Pompey will hope will swing the move their way.
