West Ham eye move for south Korean International talent | “Steidten is set”..
ExWHUEmployee reports that Tim Steidten is now overseeing a prospective move for an international full-back.
The club’s Technical Director is said to be at the Asian Cup, observing a number of players who might be possible targets for West Ham, notably during the January transfer window.
As previously revealed by our club insider Ex, David Sullivan has identified the Asian market as a potential source of player recruitment due to their ability, work rate, and commercial and income opportunities.
It is commonly recognized in football that shirt and ticket sales mitigate most of the risk associated with transfer payments paid to sign players from that region.
“The two nations that we seem to be particularly focused on are Japan and South Korea,” stated Ex. “There has been some interest in a couple of Japanese players namely Sugawara and Dōan.
“The main interest appears to be in South Korean full back Seol Young-woo, who could be available this January for a bargain price.”
At this stage its understood that Steidten is set to make a decision on whether the player can genuinely make it in the English game during this tournament.
Ex will be keeping fans up to date on the situation as it develops further.
