REPORT:In an unexpected raid for £10 million, Wolves “open talks” with Newcastle United….

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly entered into discussions with Birmingham City regarding an inquiry for the talented midfielder Jordan James.

Jordan Anthony James is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for EFL Championship club Birmingham City and the Wales national team. James made his senior debut for Birmingham City as a 17-year-old on 2 November 2021.

Despite navigating a precarious financial landscape to comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, Wolves are eager to reinforce their midfield. Jordan James, a sought-after figure in the Sky Bet Championship, has attracted interest due to his impressive record of six goals in 13 starts and 13 substitute appearances.

According to The Daily Mail, Wolves have formally approached Birmingham for James, but they face competition from Crystal Palace, who have also initiated contact. In recent weeks, Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion have been linked to the player. Additionally, Atalanta, an Italian Serie A side, had two bids of £3 million and £4 million rejected in early January.

Despite being only 19 years old, James has accumulated 89 senior appearances, including 89 in the Championship. Birmingham City maintains a valuation of around £10 million for James, and they are firm on this figure for the potential departure of the eight-time Wales international.

James is known for excelling in roles as a six or an eight in midfield, but he displays versatility by being able to play across various positions, including on the flanks. While not the fastest player, his forward drive, technical skills, and clinical finishing ability with both feet make him a considerable threat. The former England Under-20 international has already established himself as a key player in the Birmingham first team.
