CONFIRMED: 3 Cardiff City players who bid farewell after their last game for the club
As attention begins to shift towards next season for Cardiff City, there’s speculation about potential departures from the squad. Here are three players who may have already played their last game for the Bluebirds:
1. Romaine Sawyers: Sawyers’ future at Cardiff City has been uncertain, especially after reports suggested he was set to leave during the January transfer window. Despite remaining at the club, he has seen limited playing time, featuring only twice in the league for a total of 27 minutes. With his contract expiring in June and the lack of opportunities, Sawyers is likely to seek a new club.
2. Sheyi Ojo: Ojo was loaned out to Belgian side K.V Kortrijk in the summer and appears to be out of favor with manager Erol Bulut. Like Sawyers, his contract is also expiring in the summer, hinting at a potential permanent departure for the 26-year-old. Although there’s a possibility of Cardiff offering a new deal, it seems unlikely given Ojo’s current situation and the club’s decision to loan him out.
3. Kieron Evans: The young striker, currently on loan at Gateshead, is another player whose contract expires in June. Despite making 11 appearances for Cardiff City, Evans may seek regular first-team football elsewhere, especially considering his age.
A move to a lower division side appears probable given his contract situation and current loan spell.
With these players facing uncertain futures at Cardiff City, it remains to be seen how the club will handle their departures or contract renewals as they plan for the upcoming season.
