Official: Brighton administrative head takes up new role at Chelsea…
Chelsea has made a swift move to secure Sam Jewell, the head of recruitment at Brighton & Hove Albion, who accepted a new position with the Blues yesterday. Brighton confirmed Jewell’s departure and placed him on gardening leave, with his official start date at Chelsea pending.
Although Chelsea has yet to confirm Jewell’s new role, it’s expected that he will assume a global recruitment position within the organization, spanning both Chelsea and RC Strasbourg.
This aligns with previous plans for Christopher Vivell, who departed less than a year into the role. Jewell’s recruitment prowess also attracted interest from Manchester United, but his connections with former and current Brighton recruitment staff, such as Paul Winstanley, likely influenced his decision.
While Chelsea’s confirmation of Jewell’s appointment is pending, his arrival is eagerly anticipated, with expectations of his valuable contributions to the club’s recruitment strategy. Welcome to Chelsea, Sam (soon to be official)!
