Celtics’ injury report: New reserve guard withdrawn for Bulls game Thursday

The Boston Celtics will field a fully healthy roster on Thursday night for the first time in weeks as they take on the Bulls following the All-Star Break. The team confirmed that new trade addition Jaden Springer has been removed from the injury report after recovering from a right ankle impingement that sidelined him for the past two weeks.

Springer’s return coincides with Xavier Tillman being cleared to play for the first time with Boston after overcoming left knee soreness. With both players available, the Celtics will have a well-rested and versatile lineup at their disposal for the road contest in Chicago under the guidance of interim head coach Joe Mazzulla.

Boston returns from the break with an impressive league-best record of 43-12 and is riding a six-game winning streak. Tillman, acquired from the Grizzlies for a pair of second-round picks and Lamar Stevens, is expected to provide depth in the frontcourt for Boston. Meanwhile, Springer, acquired just before the trade deadline from the 76ers, is seen as a developmental project at 21 years old.

Team president of basketball operations Brad Stevens expressed his confidence in Springer’s potential, noting his impressive performances in the G-League playoffs and his strong showings against Boston’s affiliate team, the Maine Celtics.

The Celtics will face the Bulls at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday night at the United Center.
