Key Rotherham Man to miss Championship six-pointer – but should be available for Derby & Sheffield
Rotherham United’s Ollie Rathbone suffered a concussion during Tuesday night’s match against Ipswich Town, leading to his absence from the upcoming trip to West London.
According to Millers chief Leam Richardson, Rathbone will not be available for the next game due to the short turnaround time between matches. However, Richardson expressed optimism about Rathbone’s recovery and expects him to be available for the following week’s fixtures.
Rathbone’s health is the top priority, and he is undergoing tests to ensure his well-being before returning to action. Richardson emphasized Rathbone’s frustration at not being able to train and play but assured that he is receiving proper care and attention.
Due to ongoing fitness issues and injuries within the squad, Richardson acknowledged the need to manage players’ workloads carefully, especially in February. Despite the challenges, Richardson remains focused on addressing these issues to improve the team’s performance moving forward.
