‘Humiliation’ : Fulham winning caused £85m Signing’s birthday…
According to a journalist speaking on Optus Sport, Antony, the Manchester United star, experienced what can be described as the ultimate humiliation during the match against Fulham.
Despite being brought on for just 55 seconds, he was given minimal playing time by coach Erik ten Hag, who previously had a strong relationship with Antony during their time together at Ajax. This lack of playing time, especially on his 24th birthday, left Antony feeling disrespected and humiliated.Starting with a relatively unknown player, Omari Forson, in Antony’s position and then shuffling other players around without giving Antony a chance further compounded the humiliation.
The journalist expressed doubt about Antony’s ability to recover from this blow to his confidence and suggested that his relationship with Ten Hag might be irreparably damaged. It appears increasingly likely that Antony’s time at Manchester United is coming to an end, as he has fallen down the pecking order and is reportedly available for transfer this summer. Additionally, the club is rumored to be targeting other players like Michael Olise, which could further reduce Antony’s opportunities. Overall, Antony’s recent experiences are likely to undermine his confidence and make it difficult for him to regain form, potentially leading to his departure from the club.
