37 year old who worked under (4) different managers admits once again to clinge permanently to “stadium of light”..
Sunderland’s interim coach, Mike Dodds, has outlined his plans for his future with the club amid discussions of appointing him permanently in the summer.
Dodds, who initially joined Sunderland in August 2021 as head of individual player development, has experienced a whirlwind journey, working under four different managers and stepping into the role of interim manager multiple times.
Despite facing challenges in his first stint, Dodds has since demonstrated more success, notably securing victories against Leeds United and West Brom. While the possibility of Dodds being appointed permanently has been discussed, the club seems inclined towards considering other options, potentially looking abroad.
When asked about his future at Sunderland, Dodds expressed his desire to stay, citing his love for the area and belief in the club’s potential to return to prominence. Regardless of his managerial status at the end of the season, Dodds’ coaching prowess and dedication to the club have earned him respect and support from fans, who hope to see him continue contributing to Sunderland’s journey, ideally towards promotion to the Premier League.
