‘Highly rated’ West Brom player seals Hawthorns exit due to lack of game time

Josh Griffiths, the goalkeeper for West Brom, might not stay with the team till the end of the year, according to Football League World.

According to a news source from March 2, Griffiths may be traded by the Hawthorns due to a lack of playing time, since Alex Palmer is expected to be the team’s top player for the foreseeable future.

The 22-year-old is reportedly still “highly rated” by the Baggies’ administration.

Griffiths may be headed for a West Brom exit.

Griffiths’ talent and potential are clearly valued by West Brom and Carlos Corberan, but they also recognize how important it is for players to demand consistent playing time, particularly at a pivotal point in their careers.

Although they would have preferred to retain the 22-year-old as a backup, Griffiths’ limited possibilities behind the excellent Palmer may force him to look for work elsewhere.

Players need to feel important and have a clear path to the first team, and Corberan and the club management understand this.

Griffiths’ decision to explore a move, whether on loan or permanently, would be understood if he felt his chances of cracking the starting lineup were slim.
