Sunderland boss admits fans won’t like Jack Clarke replacement plan
Dodds claims he is unable to provide’reassurances’ to anxious fans, as Sunderland is beginning to realize how difficult it will be to replace Jack Clarke.

In the last two games, Romaine Mundle, Adboullah Ba, and Nazariy Rusyn have all attempted to step in for Clarke, but none of them really seem to be able to do so at this time.
Dodds concedes that supporters may not be pleased with the successor, but he argues the team needs time to find one.

“I think the point I made following the [Swansea] game is really important: Jack will be the subject of a lot of talk, but he wasn’t the Jack you see now when he signed for the football club about eighteen months ago, and that’s because he’s listened to his critics and worked really hard.” Behind the scenes, a great deal of work has gone into him.
“I understand that won’t provide the supporters with much comfort in the near future, but we must continue to develop the players we now have.
We are unable to dwell on our predicament or cry about it. We will continue to work with the strikers every day while we are on the training field, rather than holding out hope for one of them to become more consistent.”
