‘Villa fate’ :Bruno Fernandes concurs with Roy Keane when he says that Man Utd should defeat Aston Villa….
Bruno Fernandes concurs with Roy Keane’s perspective as he shares his thoughts on Manchester United’s chances of catching up to Aston Villa in the Premier League standings.
Acknowledging the significant challenge ahead, Fernandes admits it will be arduous for Manchester United to secure a top-four finish with Aston Villa currently holding the fourth spot, enjoying an 11-point lead over the Red Devils who sit in sixth place with only 11 matches remaining. Tottenham, occupying fifth place, also pose a threat with a six-point advantage over United and a game in hand. Aston Villa further widened the gap over United by securing a victory against Luton Town, while the Red Devils suffered a defeat to Manchester City in the recent Manchester derby.
Reflecting on the setback, Fernandes emphasizes the importance of looking ahead and acknowledges that United’s fate is not solely within their control in the race for Champions League qualification. Despite the daunting task, Fernandes expresses the team’s determination to fight until the end of the season to secure a coveted fourth-place finish, which would grant them entry into the Champions League. He emphasizes the need for the team to exhaust all efforts within their control to achieve their goal.
Former Manchester United players Roy Keane and Gary Neville also weighed in on their former club’s prospects of finishing in the top four following their loss to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
Neville, speaking on Sky Sports, remains optimistic about United’s chances, pointing out upcoming fixtures between Villa and Spurs that could potentially result in dropped points for one or both teams, allowing United to close the gap. However, Neville acknowledges the inconsistency of United’s performances, citing their recent defeat to Fulham as a setback. Despite this, he maintains hope for United’s resurgence in the race for a top-four finish.
Keane echoes a more cautious outlook, highlighting the team’s reliance on fleeting moments rather than consistent performances throughout the season. He stresses the need for United to deliver more consistent displays, especially considering the significant investments in talent. Keane expresses concern that relying solely on digging out results may eventually catch up with the team, emphasizing the importance of sustained performance for United’s long-term success.
