More injuries shocked Rotherham United ahead of Coventry City

Rotherham United faces a challenging trip to Coventry City this week, grappling with the absence of influential captain Sean Morrison and a slew of injuries.

Morrison’s calf issue sidelines him for the crucial fixture, exacerbating Rotherham’s woes amid a dismal run of form, marked by seven consecutive Championship losses.

Manager Leam Richardson acknowledges the team’s predicament, describing their situation as “fix and mend,” with players forced into unfamiliar roles due to the injury crisis. With defender Morrison unlikely to feature, Rotherham’s defensive options are further depleted, leaving Cameron Humphreys as the sole fit center-back.

The injury list extends beyond Morrison, with key players such as Grant Hall, Tyler Blackett, Seb Revan, and Lee Peltier also sidelined.

Additionally, midfielder Ollie Rathbone’s absence from the weekend’s match due to concussion protocols underscores the team’s health concerns.

While there is hope for Rathbone’s clearance to face Coventry, Richardson emphasizes the cautious approach dictated by the severity of the injury. The medical team’s assessment will ultimately determine Rathbone’s availability, reflecting the club’s prioritization of player welfare amidst the demanding Championship campaign.
