‘Confirmed’ :Hull City Is Expected To Sell Star This Summer For £20 Million, Subject To One Requirement…

Hull City is anticipated to potentially part ways with one of their standout players this summer, but with a condition attached. Despite crafting a formidable team capable of vying for promotion back to the Premier League, Hull might find themselves compelled to offload a player or two if they fall short of their promotion aspirations.

Despite a series of draws in the Championship, Hull City currently clings to the final playoff spot, sitting two points ahead of seventh-placed Norwich City. However, Liam Rosenior’s squad faces a crucial match against Leicester City at the MKM Stadium, while Norwich City confronts bottom-ranked Rotherham United at home.

Considering their 15th place finish last season, comfortably avoiding relegation, Hull’s unexpected challenge for a top-six position this season reflects Rosenior’s commendable managerial prowess. The former Derby County interim manager orchestrated crucial improvements to the squad, securing key signings such as star forward Jaden Philogene from Aston Villa and securing Fabio Carvalho and Abdulkadir Omur in January, with the former arriving on loan.

Amidst the team’s achievements, center-back Jacob Greaves emerges as an unsung hero this season. With 35 appearances across all competitions and a recent captaincy against Huddersfield Town, Greaves, at 23, exemplifies Hull’s resilience and determination, notably clinching victory with a late goal.

EFL pundit Carlton Palmer weighs in on Greaves’ future, suggesting that a departure is likely if Hull fails to secure promotion. Palmer acknowledges Greaves’ contractual obligation until 2026, implying that a substantial offer would be necessary for Hull to consider parting ways. However, Palmer points out the dilemma Hull faces: if promotion eludes them, Greaves may seek opportunities at a higher level, potentially necessitating his departure.

Palmer suggests that Hull City could set an asking price ranging between £15-20 million, given Greaves’ two-year contract extension. Despite this, Palmer emphasizes Greaves’ potential to excel at the highest level due to his athleticism and technical prowess, predicting a Premier League future for the talented defender regardless of Hull’s fate.

While Greaves’ departure would be a loss for Hull, his talent is undeniable, attracting interest from top-tier clubs even if promotion eludes them. Similar attention is already directed towards Philogene, indicating a busy transfer window ahead for Hull City.
