Steve Kerr reveals difficult talk with warriors big man as Stephen Curry’s new injury problem announced

Kevon Looney was the next odd man out in Steve Kerr’s plan to usher in a new winning era for the Golden State Warriors following the benching of Klay Thompson.

Looney’s record-tying streak of 290 games played—the second-longest in the league—was snapped on Thursday, March 7, at Chase Center as the Warriors fell to the Chicago Bulls 125-122.

“The thing about Loon is that he’s a great pro,” Kerr remarked on Friday, March 8, during the “Willard and Dibs” segment on 95.7 The Game. The fact that he is accessible every single night is what the streak really signifies. Simply said, the number is the number. He’s prepared, too. Without a doubt, we will require him once more. He will be essential to us in some of the postseason matchups. I am aware of his abilities and his level of professionalism. Having said that, I regret ending that streak since I know how much it meant to him.

Kerr shared some information about the contentious discussions he had with Looney on his downsizing.

“We discussed this. I visited Loon last week and discussed Trayce [Jackson-Davis] taking over that position with him,” said Kerr. And I told him how proud I am of his streak, knowing full well that I had a similar one as a player in which I took immense delight.

The fact is, though, that we committed to giving Trayce those minutes, and I didn’t think it was appropriate to leave Loon out there for a little while just to maintain the streak. That didn’t seem fair to me. It’s nearly condescending in many aspects.

Kevon Looney’s Prospects

When the Warriors started looking at big guys in the run-up to the February 8 trade deadline, Looney could see the writing on the wall.

As Looney’s playing time started to decline, the Warriors reportedly looked into the center market, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic on January 30.

“Kevon Looney is having a poor season and is currently seeing his playing time decrease following Green’s comeback. On January 30, Slater noted, “The Warriors have looked into the center market.”

Of Looney’s $8 million contract for the upcoming season, only $3 million are assured.

This summer, Jackson-Davis’s rise renders Looney unnecessary. Should owner Joe Lacob carry out his plan to avoid the luxury tax, he may be cut or included in a possible trade in the offseason.

Massive Stephen Curry Sighting Update for Golden State Warriors Fans Amid Injury Originally published on Hardwood Heroics

Stephen Curry won’t be able to return to action until the Golden State Warriors reevaluate his right ankle injury, which is at least Tuesday. However, it doesn’t seem like his absence will last very long.

After all, the most recent reports indicate that Curry is making a good recovery and will soon be able to resume his activities.

Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors was spotted
Curry, who injured his right ankle last Thursday against the Chicago Bulls, was recently seen leaving the Warriors’ practice without a walking boot, according to a report by NBA insider Monte Poole. It’s encouraging to hear that Curry’s injury may not be as catastrophic as it seems.

Curry did, in addition, have crutches to help him walk, but he was not using them.

The best news the Warriors received today was that Stephen Curry entered the building at midday while wearing shoes rather of a boot to preserve his right ankle, according to a highly trustworthy source. Had crutches, but wasn’t using them, according to Poole’s report on X.

Without Curry, the Warriors fell short against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, demonstrating how urgently they need the superstar guard back. Thankfully, the likelihood of the GOAT shooter making a comeback is high.

Update on Stephen Curry’s Injury
The Golden State Warriors announced earlier on Saturday that Stephen Curry’s most recent MRI was negative. To give the star guard time to heal, they did not include him in their back-to-back games against the San Antonio Spurs.

Curry’s future status will be decided on Tuesday, when he undergoes another evaluation, as previously said. Fortunately for Dubs supporters, the brief re-evaluation delay and unproblematic MRI point to a non-serious issue.

“Stephen Curry, the guard for the Golden State Warriors, had an MRI yesterday after leaving Thursday’s game against the Chicago Bulls with 3:51 left in the fourth quarter due to a right ankle injury. The MRI verified that the injury was a sprained ankle and showed no structural damage to the joint. In their medical report, the team stated that Curry will not play in tonight’s game against the San Antonio Spurs and will undergo another evaluation on Tuesday.

Everything seems to be pointing to Curry’s speedy comeback. I hope he doesn’t have any setbacks, especially since the Dubs want to make it to the Western Conference playoffs.
