Forest manager Nuno expresses frustration with VAR after yesterday’s loss against Brighton & Hove

Nottingham Forest’s manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, voiced his dissatisfaction with the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system following a contentious incident during their yesterday’s Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Nuno expressed frustration as Brighton’s player, Jakub Moder, escaped a red card despite a severe tackle on Neco Williams, which resulted in a yellow card instead, after being checked by VAR.

This decision compounded Forest’s disappointment as they suffered a 1-0 defeat, leaving them in 17th place in the Premier League standings, just three points clear of the relegation zone with 10 games remaining in the season.

Adding to their frustration, Forest experienced another controversial refereeing decision in their previous match against Liverpool, where referee Paul Tierney’s failure to return the ball for a restart prior to Liverpool’s 99th-minute winner was deemed incorrect by Forest’s referee analyst.

Nuno expressed exasperation with the recurring issues, highlighting the impact of such decisions on their results, including a lost point in the previous match against Newcastle.

Despite these challenges, Nuno emphasized Forest’s determination to persevere, reinforce, and prepare for their upcoming fixture against Luton.
