Prior to the upcoming season, David Moyes decides whether to move Kalvin Phillips…
David Moyes has reached a decision regarding Kalvin Phillips’ transfer status for the upcoming season. It appears that West Ham United is leaning towards not pursuing a permanent deal for Phillips after the current season concludes. According to a recent report from GiveMeSport, the Hammers are not inclined to agree to a ‘lucrative’ arrangement to secure the services of the English midfielder on a permanent basis from Manchester City.
Phillips, who has found himself out of favor under Pep Guardiola and unable to dislodge Rodri from Manchester City’s preferred starting lineup, was compelled to accept a short-term loan with West Ham. Despite his previous success with Leeds United, his form has been disappointing, culminating in a red card against Nottingham Forest last month. This downturn has led to him missing out on Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad selection.
As a result, it seems likely that the Hammers will return the 28-year-old midfielder to the Etihad Stadium in the summer transfer window. Instead, they are considering pursuing a deal for Mandela Keita, currently on loan from Royal Antwerp, as an alternative option.
