Yazmine Delarosè, the partner of a player from Reading FC, has expressed concerns about the ongoing instability at the club. She emphasized that the uncertainty surrounding the future of Reading FC is unsettling for many people. Delarosè urged the club’s owner, Dai Yongge, to take appropriate action and sell the club.
The troubled League One team has faced penalties due to Dai Yongge’s failure to meet financial obligations, including paying wages and taxes on time. Delarosè revealed that the uncertainty has directly impacted her family as well as the families of club staff. Meanwhile, former Reading FC CEO Nigel Howe has indicated that a sale of the club could be finalized by mid-May, amid ongoing protests from fans against Dai Yongge’s ownership.
The English Football League (EFL) has previously penalized Dai Yongge for financial misconduct and urged him to either invest in the club or sell it promptly. The BBC has reported a cash shortfall of approximately £1 million for Reading FC in March.
Delarosè has spoken out against the situation on social media, expressing frustration and calling for action. She highlighted the initial excitement of joining Reading FC but lamented the current uncertainty. Delarosè emphasized the familial atmosphere at the club and called on Dai Yongge to sell to a buyer who is genuinely committed to the club’s success.
Nigel Howe, now overseeing the club’s sale, emphasized the rigorous process for potential buyers, including demonstrating financial stability for two years. Current CEO Dayong Pang reiterated Dai Yongge’s willingness to sell, emphasizing the importance of finding the right buyer for the club’s future.
