Speculation That The Texans May Still Target Additional Cornerback Talent In The Upcoming NFL,After signing CB C.J. Henderson…

The latest news reports that the Houston Texans have made a significant addition to their roster by signing cornerback C.J. Henderson. Henderson, who has been with the Carolina Panthers since 2021, has decided to join the Texans for the upcoming season.

This acquisition has been confirmed by ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler, who specializes in NFL news and updates. Henderson’s departure from the Carolina Panthers marks the end of nearly three seasons with the team.

C.J. Henderson, aged 25, originally entered the NFL as the ninth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars from the University of Florida. Despite high expectations, he has yet to fully meet the anticipated performance levels during his four seasons in the league.

His tenure with the Jaguars was relatively short-lived, as he expressed a desire to be traded after just over a year with the team. Subsequently, he was traded to the Carolina Panthers, where he has participated in 39 games across three seasons. Notably, he contributed 39 tackles throughout the 2023 season, demonstrating his defensive prowess.

With Henderson’s arrival, the cornerback group for the Texans now includes prominent names such as Derek Stingley Jr., Jeff Okudah, Desmond King, Mike Ford, D’Angelo Ross, and Kris Boyd. However, there remains speculation that the Texans may still target additional cornerback talent in the upcoming NFL draft.
