Sheffield United academy alumnus connected to £15 million transfer.
West Ham United continues to be associated with the possibility of signing Harry Maguire, a former Sheffield United center-back.
Maguire, now 31 years old, emerged from the Blades’ youth academy and faced significant speculation about leaving Manchester United last summer, with West Ham keeping a close eye on him.
Despite the rumors, Maguire remained with Manchester United and has since revived his career with the club after a challenging period marked by significant mistakes.
According to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon platform, West Ham is considering pursuing the English defender to strengthen their team’s aerial abilities.
While West Ham has previously been linked with Maguire, a move away from Manchester United didn’t materialize. However, recent reports suggest that West Ham may be willing to offer between £15 million and £20 million to secure his services during the upcoming transfer window.
Maguire joined Manchester United for a hefty £80 million fee following a successful stint at Leicester City.
However, his once commanding presence has diminished, potentially resulting in a substantial loss for Manchester United if they decide to sell him in the upcoming transfer window.
In a separate development, Kyle Walker has expressed his desire to eventually return to Sheffield United at the twilight of his career. This raises the question: Could Maguire also contemplate a return to his roots?
With 166 appearances for Sheffield United to his credit, it’s conceivable that the Shirecliffe graduate might consider finishing his career at Bramall Lane.
