Westbrom dream now complete after so many years…
Ally Robertson, a revered figure in the history of West Bromwich Albion, expressed his aspirations for the team under the leadership of Carlos Corberan. He emphasized the importance of aiming for promotion to the Premier League as a means of reciprocating the support and investment provided by owner Shilen Patel.
The transition of ownership from Guochuan Lai to Florida-based investor Patel was finalized in early February, signaling a new chapter for Albion after enduring financial turbulence in the previous regime. Patel, aged 43, assumed various financial obligations and garnered admiration from the club’s supporters by settling the £5 million Wisdom Smart loan, along with substantial interest, left by Lai.
Ally Robertson, now 71 years old and hailed as a Baggies hero, lauded Patel’s transparency in his initial tenure as chairman and stressed the importance of the team under Corberan’s management securing promotion, particularly given their current fifth-place position in the play-off chase. Robertson expressed gratitude on behalf of the supporters, acknowledging Patel’s proactive involvement in the club’s affairs.
