Luton man claims his comeback will be ‘loud’
Luton’s summer acquisition, Mads Andersen, is on the brink of making his return for the team after enduring a challenging period sidelined due to a calf injury. Despite joining the club from Barnsley last summer, his debut season has been marred by setbacks, including a hamstring injury that kept him out of seven Premier League matches. Although he managed to make a comeback during the festive period with appearances against Newcastle United and Sheffield United, a subsequent calf issue has seen him miss the last 10 games.
Having traveled back to Denmark last month to intensify his rehabilitation, Andersen is now back at the Brache training ground and optimistic about his imminent return. Expressing his excitement on Instagram, he indicated that he’s on the verge of rejoining the squad, stating, “After several weeks of indoor training to rehabilitate my calf, the prospect of returning to the field is invigorating. I feel energized, knowing that I’m close to reuniting with the team.”
Describing his recovery process, Andersen outlined the steps he’s taken to ensure his readiness to play again. These include progressing from pain-free movements to football-specific exercises, such as light jogging on the treadmill and agility drills. As he gains strength and confidence in his calf muscle, he’s gradually reintegrating onto the pitch with low-intensity ball work and running sessions.
