Reasons Why Conventry City Man Is Monitored…
The latest news regarding Coventry City’s Championship campaign includes reports of interest from Sporting Lisbon and Ajax in their defender, Joel Latibeaudiere. The Telegraph has detailed that the 24-year-old, who joined Coventry City from Swansea City last summer, has impressed observers with his performances this season.
Despite his contract with Coventry City extending until June 2027, Sporting Lisbon and Ajax are monitoring Latibeaudiere’s development with an eye towards a potential move in the upcoming transfer window.
Latibeaudiere has been integral to Coventry’s success this season, making 41 appearances across all competitions, with 35 of those in the league, and scoring three goals from his defensive position. Additionally, he has represented his team in the FA Cup semi-final, contributing to their journey to Wembley to face Manchester United.
A product of the Manchester City academy, Latibeaudiere took a different path to professional football, departing the Premier League club after a loan spell at FC Twente in the Netherlands. Subsequently, he joined Swansea City in 2020, where he amassed 79 appearances before his move to Coventry City.
Now firmly established at Coventry, Latibeaudiere’s impressive form has attracted attention from European clubs, potentially leading to a challenge for Coventry to retain his services.
In their upcoming fixture against Leeds United, Coventry City aims to bounce back from their recent defeat to Cardiff City as they continue their pursuit of a playoff spot in the Championship.
