The One Team Bills Are Not Really In Good Term With…
A recent report unveils that the Buffalo Bills were open to trading wide receiver Stefon Diggs, displaying a clear intention to do so. However, there was one specific team that the Bills adamantly refused to negotiate with.
According to Chris Simms on “Pro Football Talk,” the Bills were prepared to facilitate a trade for Diggs under certain conditions, but they drew a firm line when it came to the Kansas City Chiefs. Simms indicated that multiple sources informed him that Diggs was permitted to explore trade options with any team in the league except the Chiefs.
This decision likely stems from the Bills’ competitive rivalry with the Chiefs, heightened by their frequent playoff encounters in recent years, with the Chiefs emerging victorious in all three matchups. Entertaining the idea of trading Diggs to the Chiefs would have been counterproductive for the Bills and likely met with significant backlash from their fan base.
Ultimately, the Houston Texans acquired Diggs, bolstering their already impressive arsenal of offensive weapons. While this move presents a risk for the Texans, potentially having Diggs for just a single season, it also means the Bills will face the challenge of defending against Diggs as he suits up for an AFC rival that clinched a playoff spot in 2023.
