Ex – Rotherham & West Ham Icon axed from managerial role
Wealdstone Football Club has announced the termination of first-team manager David Noble’s contract, along with assistant manager Neil Banfield. This decision comes amidst the team’s precarious position in the National League, currently 20th and only above the relegation zone on goal difference.
In a statement, Wealdstone expressed regret over the decision, emphasizing the necessity of prioritizing the club’s interests, particularly in their bid to retain National League status. Despite acknowledging Noble and Banfield’s professionalism and dedication, the board deemed their departure as crucial for the club’s future.
As a result, first-team coach Sam Cox will step in as interim manager, supported by a select group of senior players. This decision aims to maintain continuity and stability within the squad for the remaining fixtures of the season.
With just five games left, Wealdstone urged everyone associated with the club to unite and support Cox, the senior players, and the team ahead of their upcoming match against Southend United. The focus is firmly set on navigating through the challenges ahead and securing positive results on the pitch.
