Sheffield Wednesday boss ‘very happy’ after forgotten Owl star man makes return to training
Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Röhl expressed his satisfaction at Juan Delgado’s return to training after a challenging season marked by injury setbacks.
Delgado, who initially featured regularly under Xisco before being sidelined by a hip injury that required surgery, found himself unregistered under the subsequent manager. However, his recent return to training with the team at Middlewood Road marks a significant milestone in his recovery journey.
Röhl emphasized the importance of Delgado being back on the grass and training with his teammates, acknowledging the difficulties he faced during his rehabilitation period. While Delgado still needs to train individually at times, Röhl expressed his happiness for the Chilean international’s progress.
Looking ahead, Röhl indicated that decisions about Delgado’s future and the squad composition for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign will be made over the summer.
He emphasized the importance of assessing the big picture, including the team’s shape, available players, and potential acquisitions, before finalizing the squad for preseason preparations. Röhl aims for an early squad assembly and a productive preseason to set the stage for the new season.
