His contributions helped Reading secure a 17th place finish, comfortably avoiding relegation by nine points, despite facing various off-field challenges. Credit is due to Ruben Selles, the manager, who has entrusted a young squad, including players like Craig, with the goal of guiding the club back to the Championship.
However, Reading’s financial instability coupled with the emergence of promising young talents could lead to an exodus of players this summer. Craig is among those attracting interest, with Portsmouth reportedly keen on acquiring him. Portsmouth, freshly promoted to the Championship, are in pursuit of youthful talents, aligning with their manager’s knack for nurturing young players.
While staying at Reading could aid Craig’s development, the allure of Championship football with Portsmouth might be hard to resist. Nonetheless, regardless of his destination, Craig’s talent is evident, and he’s poised to make further strides in his career, potentially becoming a valuable asset for any club.
