Good news: Brentford key man after playing 157 times for the bees, commits his future to the bees in a big way…
Josh Dasilva, the talented 25-year-old midfielder at Brentford, is on the brink of signing a new contract with the club. Despite grappling with injuries throughout the season, Dasilva’s contract is set to expire at the end of June, prompting swift negotiations for an extension, which have progressed rapidly since late April.

Manager Thomas Frank is eager to retain Dasilva’s services, despite his prolonged spells on the sidelines due to successive hamstring, ankle, and knee injuries. Despite these setbacks, Brentford has remained supportive, even offering assistance during Dasilva’s recovery from knee surgery in February, underscoring the club’s high regard for him.
Dasilva’s contributions to Brentford’s success are noteworthy, having made 157 appearances for the team since his arrival in 2018. His presence played a crucial role in the club’s promotion to the Premier League in 2021 and subsequent successful campaigns in the top flight, where they comfortably avoided relegation in the past three seasons.
In addition to Dasilva, talks are also underway with defender Ben Mee regarding the extension of his contract, which is also due to expire in the summer. However, midfielder Frank Onyeka may be exploring options elsewhere, as he has found himself relegated to the bench in recent matches. Interest in Onyeka was evident during the January transfer window, with clubs such as Fulham, Everton, Girona, and Reims expressing interest in acquiring his services.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding some players, Brentford has already secured their Premier League status and currently sits in 16th place in the table with two matches remaining in the season.
