VIP transfer window dates for Coventry City are announced ahead of summer strengthening
The summer transfer season, which will officially open in a few short weeks and see trading begin in mid-June and end in mid-August, is well started for Coventry City in terms of recruitment.
The Sky Blues are anticipated to be quite busy during the summer transfer window as Mark Robins aims to bolster his team and add more players after this season’s narrow miss in the play-offs. The EFL has declared the start and end of the window.
Players can register with City starting on June 14 and the window will close at 11 p.m. on Friday, August 30. In previous years, summer windows have extended until September; however, this will not be the case in 2024.
The next winter transfer window will, however, run into February. The Sky Blues will be allowed to sign players from January 1 through to 11pm on Monday, February 3 in 2025.
Coventry have already revealed their retained list with three senior players out of contract and all expected to leave the club. So far stalwart midfielder
He left the CBS Arena, with attacking midfielder Callum O’Hare also expected to be confirmed as leaving. The 26-year-old has been offered a fresh deal and is wanted by manager Mark Robins but all the indications are that the former Aston Villa prospect will be leaving on a free transfer for a higher placed club either in this country or abroad.
Elsewhere loan defender Luis Binks has returned to his parent club Bologna after completing his season long stay and the club have released Under-21s players Dermi Lusala and Bradley Stretton.
There are also question marks over the futures of some contracted players, namely striker Matty Godden and goalkeeper Ben Wilson which may provide opportunities for the club to wheel and deal a bit in the summer market.
