Ex Pompey man takes the Portsmouth magic to new home

Former Portsmouth loanee Di’Shon Bernard has been presented with a contract opportunity by Sheffield Wednesday amidst managerial updates at Norwich City and Hull City.

Di’Shon Bernard, who previously had a loan stint with Portsmouth in 2023, has been extended a new contract offer by Sheffield Wednesday, according to details outlined in their retained list. The Owls, under the management of Danny Rohl, narrowly avoided relegation in the previous campaign and are eager to retain the services of the defender.

At 23 years old, Bernard’s existing deal with Sheffield Wednesday is set to expire at the conclusion of next month. He spent six years with Manchester United prior to his move to South Yorkshire.

In other managerial news, Norwich City finds themselves in the pursuit of a new manager following the departure of David Wagner, who parted ways with the club after their significant defeat in the playoffs against Leeds United. The Canaries face a decision in selecting Wagner’s successor.

According to reports from The Telegraph, Liam Rosenior could emerge as a potential candidate, with Steve Cooper also being considered. However, Carlos Cuesta, a coach at Arsenal, is not believed to be under consideration for the position.

Meanwhile, Hull City remains engaged in discussions to appoint a new manager after unexpectedly severing ties with Rosenior following their failure to secure a playoff spot. Hull finished in 7th place, just three points adrift of the top six.

The Tigers have set their sights on Tim Walter, a former figure at Holstein Kiel, Stuttgart, and Hamburg, as their preferred choice. As indicated in the latest update by HullLive, negotiations are ongoing, and the club remains optimistic about reaching an agreement with the German.
