Two-time all-star for the Rangers receives major injury update
Texas Rangers’ two-time All-Star outfielder Adolis Garcia received a crucial injury update from manager Bruce Bochy on Sunday.
The Texas Rangers lost to the Los Angeles Angels 4-1 on Sunday, bringing their 2024 record to 24-24. Adolis Garcia, a key outfielder for the Rangers, missed the game due to a forearm injury. Fans feared the worst given the team’s ongoing injury issues, but there was some relief following the latest update.
Adolis Garcia Injury Update
Manager Bruce Bochy, via Jeff Wilson of Rangers Today, confirmed that imaging on Garcia’s forearm showed no serious damage. Consequently, the Rangers are optimistic that Garcia will be ready to play on Tuesday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Garcia has posted a .251/.297/.491/.788 slash line this season, with 11 home runs and nine doubles. The outfielder, who made the American League All-Star team in 2021 and 2023, was a standout in 2023 with 39 home runs, 107 RBIs, and a .836 OPS, earning MVP consideration and a Gold Glove Award.
While Garcia has performed solidly in 2024, the Rangers hope he can improve his on-base percentage. Nonetheless, his power at the plate remains a significant asset for the team.
Rangers Slumping Heading into Phillies Series
Despite a rough patch, with a 3-7 record in their last 10 games, the Rangers remain determined to bounce back. They sit in second place in the American League West, just 1.5 games behind the first-place Seattle Mariners.
The upcoming three-game road series against the Philadelphia Phillies presents a tough challenge, as the Phillies currently hold the best record in baseball. However, the Rangers are prepared to face this formidable opponent, bolstered by the anticipated return of Adolis Garcia.
