McDermott in 3 words describes the phenomenal QB with 22,703yards and 167 touchdowns on his 28th birthday…

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen marked his 28th birthday by engaging with his team, throwing passes to existing teammates, and acquainting himself with new additions to the wide receiver corps. As the Bills head into their seventh season with Allen as their quarterback, changes have occurred, particularly in the wide receiver lineup, with departures like Gabe Davis in free agency and Stefon Diggs traded to the Houston Texans.

Throughout his career, Allen has amassed impressive statistics, including 22,703 passing yards and 167 touchdowns, solidifying his role as the face of the franchise. With significant roster changes during the offseason, partly due to Allen’s substantial contract consuming a significant portion of the salary cap, head coach Sean McDermott has challenged Allen to embrace a greater leadership role, which he has done admirably.

McDermott expressed his pride in Allen’s growth, highlighting his character and leadership qualities both on and off the field. Despite being relatively new to the team after joining as a free agent, Marquez Valdes-Scantling commended Allen for his down-to-earth demeanor, noting that despite being one of the top quarterbacks in the league, Allen remains humble.

The Bills also bolstered their receiving options by drafting Keon Coleman with the 33rd overall pick, providing Allen with additional tall targets to compensate for the loss of Diggs. Allen expressed confidence in Coleman’s abilities, noting his agility and athleticism.

Additionally, Allen praised the leadership qualities of veteran additions like Valdes-Scantling and Curtis Samuel, as well as Coleman’s eagerness to learn and improve. Getting to know his teammates both on and off the field has been an enjoyable process for Allen, as he learns their tendencies and preferences to enhance their on-field chemistry.
