West Brom make huge announcement on West Ham United loanee
West Brom has verified that Callum Marshall has officially returned to West Ham United following the expiration of his loan agreement.
The players who will stay at The Hawthorns ahead of the upcoming season were listed on the Baggies’ retained list, which was released on their official website on May 22.
Marshall was moved on loan to the Championship in January; it has now been confirmed that he will be returning to the London Stadium.
Marshall will return to West Ham to continue his development there for the remainder of the season, Albion announced on April 9. That being said, Carlos Corberan could have used him if he had chosen to.
Callum Marshall: Should West Ham keep him?
After making the transfer, the forward only appeared in three Championship games for the Baggies [FotMob].
Carlos Corberan gave him just 55 minutes of playing time, but he did not score or assist.
He rejoined West Ham’s academy team after his contract expired, and in his four games there, he has netted two goals.
Marshall might have an opportunity now that David Moyes will be replaced as manager by Julen Lopetegui.
Admittedly, throughout his time at West Brom, the Northern Ireland international didn’t exactly showcase his skills.
In the future, his development might benefit from another loan stint in the Championship or below.
It could be beneficial for him to play again for the Midlands under Corberan because he won’t require as much time to adjust and will have a greater possibility of playing regularly.
