Fresh demand to identify 19 guys following violence during the Wolves vs. West Brom game
After disturbances at a West Bromwich Albion vs. Wolves game in January, police have released a new request for the identification of 19 males they need to talk with.
On January 28, during The Hawthorns’ FA Cup fourth-round match, violence broke out, resulting in injuries and assaults to both police and spectators.
In addition, flares were lighted and missiles were launched onto the field, which delayed the game’s restart.
Six of the 25 guys in the photo that West Midlands Police released last week are the ones who they have since identified as the men they wish to talk with regarding the disturbance.
Speaking with the guys “in due course” is part of the force’s ongoing investigation, it said.
The public is now being asked to assist police in identifying the other 19 guys.
Can you identify these men?
On the day of the game, six individuals were taken into custody on charges of assaulting a police officer and causing violent disorder.
Since then, authorities have released them on bond while they carry out their investigation.
The Sandwell Police’s Det Ch Insp Chris Fox stated: “We have been making good progress with identifying people we want to talk with as part of our inquiry.
I would encourage anyone who knows them to come forward and provide us with their identities, but we still need your assistance in getting in touch with a few people.
“The disorder that broke out was totally unacceptable, and we won’t tolerate any form of violence at football matches.”
