Cardiff City now to revive striker chase after Ipswich Town terrible loan
According to Wales Online, Cardiff City has not ruled out the idea of resuming their pursuit of forward Kieffer Moore.
From August 2020 to January 2022, Cardiff City signed big striker Moore, who brought him to Wales for a productive stint in the capital.
After letting go of the Bluebirds, reunion connections have become rare. Manager Erol Bulut expressed his desire to sign Moore as recently as the January transfer window.
Unfortunately, Moore chose to sign a loan with Ipswich Town instead, where he scored seven goals and provided an assist in eighteen Championship games while helping Kieran McKenna’s team to an unexpected Premier League promotion.
However, Moore is back at Bournemouth, and it appears that the rumors of him joining Cardiff City may resurface.
According to Wales Online, insiders won’t completely rule out making a fresh offer for the 31-year-old striker before the summer transfer window opens. It will be pursued to sign a proven talisman, and Moore, a previous favorite, most definitely matches that description.
Moore has scored 54 goals in 173 Championship games and 25 goals in 66 games for Cardiff City.
Andoni Iraola, the manager of Bournemouth, has given Moore the power to decide his future, even if a move to Cardiff City still looks possible.
He responded as follows to the Daily Echo’s question on whether he could continue with the Cherries:
“He could, of course, do that.
“I’m overjoyed. He has undoubtedly proven that he can score goals. He is an excellent number nine.
Iraola would clarify, though, that it will be up to them to decide what will happen to returning loan players like Moore in the future. He added,
Then, under these circumstances, I always advise that we should first listen to what they have to say.
“We have to talk with the clubs so that the money works and everyone is satisfied if they say, ‘I would prefer to leave, because I will not be able to have the minutes I want here.'”
“I want to stay here and fight for the minutes,” they would say to me.
Could Cardiff pick up the chase again?
It should be emphasized, however, that these rumors do not imply that Cardiff City is eager to have Moore return or that they will rekindle their interest. It’s only that the issue hasn’t been completely ruled out.
Nonetheless, it wouldn’t be shocking if they were after him again considering how much Bulut desired him during the winter.
He is free to move on if he so chooses, and the Bluebirds might be among the teams waiting to make him an offer.
Only time will tell what choice Moore makes as Cardiff City considers their transfer objectives.
