Nottingham forest defender despite a positive first season with the reds, drops some words…
Nottingham Forest player Murillo, currently on holiday in Brazil, appeared on the Os Donos Da Bola show this week. Despite having a successful first season with Nottingham Forest, the defender missed out on selection for the Copa America due to stiff competition in the defensive ranks.
Reflecting on his situation, Murillo expressed determination to continue performing well at Nottingham Forest in hopes of earning a national team call-up in the future. He emphasized the importance of hard work in achieving his goals: “As we play and develop, we gain confidence. But for me, it’s a positive outcome of my dedication.”
Murillo shared an anecdote about almost being selected for the national team under former coach Diniz, revealing that news of his potential inclusion reached him through sources other than official channels. Regarding recent rumors linking Nottingham Forest with Corinthians goalkeeper Carlos Miguel, Murillo stated he was unaware of any negotiations: “No one has informed me about it. I have no knowledge of such discussions.”
Nottingham Forest signed Murillo from Corinthians for €12 million last summer, and he quickly demonstrated his abilities in the Premier League. Currently valued at €35 million by Transfermarkt, Murillo remains focused on his career with Nottingham Forest despite uncertainties surrounding potential transfers and national team selections.
