San Francisco 49ers: The latest information intensifies the controversy surrounding Brock Purdy’s stance

Few NFL players are as divisive as quarterback Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers. On the one side, Purdy’s starting position with the 49ers in the 2023 NFL season proved to be successful.

It’s still true that Purdy had a significant part in his team making it that far in the playoffs, even if they were defeated by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Las Vegas back in February, and they didn’t win the Super Bowl. This one displays the 49ers as the league leaders in run-pass option (RPO) expected points added (EPA) per play for the 2023 campaign.

“Including the playoffs, the 49ers produced a positive EPA on an astounding 88.2% of their RPO passes in 2023. From 17 dropbacks, their quarterbacks completed 15 of 16 passes for 171 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.Despite having the most number of EPA dropbacks in the league (75), the Philadelphia Eagles averaged -0.272 EPA per play.

As they get ready for the 2024 NFL season, Purdy and the 49ers are focused solely on the team’s success, which is ultimately what matters to them.
Purdy will have 4,280 passing yards, 31 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a completion percentage of 69.4% in 2023.
