Fulham FC ‘star’ is linked with Tottenham switch

John Wenham is against the idea of Tottenham signing Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira. The owner of the respected Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose doesn’t think Pereira meets the required standards. Pereira, 28, has drawn interest from Spurs, Aston Villa, and Newcastle United.

In an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham expressed his opposition to Tottenham pursuing their interest in Pereira.

He acknowledged Pereira’s status as a key player at Fulham but believes that for Tottenham, he would only be an average player.

Due to this perception, Wenham does not advocate for the club signing Pereira, citing other preferred options from Fulham alone.

Andreas Pereira’s performance for Fulham during the 2023/24 season was commendable, standing out as one of their key players.

While he contributed with three goals and seven assists, it’s debatable whether this performance justifies a move to a top-six Premier League team like Tottenham.

If Tottenham were considering Pereira as a squad player, his signing might have some merit, but his impact as a starter could be questioned.

But this is unlikely to be a signing which would get supporters off their feet in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Furthermore, given that Pereira is already 28, there might be limited scope for further development under Postecoglou.

Should Tottenham sign him, fans would likely anticipate the departure of one or two prominent players as well.
