Reasons Why Neil Harris anticipates a “quickly speed up” in the transfer market this week

Head coach Neil Harris of Millwall anticipates a busy transfer window when players return for preseason workouts.

The South London club’s summer break is coming to an end as the Lions are scheduled to undergo fitness tests on Wednesday.

Despite not having made a purchase yet, Millwall is still eager to recruit Japhet Tanganga, who had a great loan spell with them during the latter part of the previous season.

After being released by Tottenham, the former England U21 center-back will become a free agent on July 1.

When questioned about potential incoming action, Harris responded, “We’re edging a lot closer,” to the South London Press. I believe that things will now begin to move.

“We arrive on Wednesday, ahead of most other teams. On Monday, the majority of clubs will be open. Only a few days separate us from the lead.

“Players truly feel the pinch on June 30 when their contracts expire because, in all likelihood, they don’t want to be jobless on July 1. Things really get going when their former teammates and buddies start showing up for training. This week, I do anticipate that the market will pick up momentum.

“We obviously want players inside, regardless of anybody else may be present in the building on Wednesday. The group in the building around Mati (Matija Sarkic, who passed away on June 15) will be the top priority on Wednesday. We will be respectful of the players over the next few days regarding that, but we also need to strike a balance because we do need to add players to the group and try to get them into our environment as soon as possible.
