Latest: Four Birmingham City fixtures could be moved due to international call-ups…
There are four Birmingham City fixtures that might need to be rescheduled due to potential international call-ups. If the Birmingham City team receives international call-ups for their players next season, it could lead to changes in their match schedule.
Paik Seung-ho is a key player for Birmingham City and is part of their international player roster.
Birmingham City has several fixtures that could be subject to change due to international call-ups. The English Football League (EFL) released the League One fixture list for the Blues today.
Chris Davies’ team will kick off the season with a home game against Reading. This match against the Royals has been rescheduled to 5:30 PM and will be aired live on Sky Sports. Although this particular fixture is confirmed, several other matches involving the Blues might be postponed due to players being called up for international duty.
Unlike the Championship, Leagues One and Two do not have scheduled breaks for international matches during the season unless a team has three or more players called up by their respective national teams. Currently, Birmingham City has players like Paik Seung-ho, Jordan James, and Juninho Bacuna who regularly play for their national teams.
Additionally, Krystian Bielik and Koji Miyoshi have international experience with Poland and Japan, respectively. Young talent Romelle Donovan has also recently been selected for the England under-18 squad. If three or more Birmingham City players are called up during any international window, the scheduled games will need to be rescheduled.
According to the FIFA men’s international match calendar, international matches are planned for the periods of September 1-9, October 6-14, and November 10-18 in 2024. The last international window of the season is from March 23-31, 2025. The first match at risk of being rescheduled is Birmingham City’s trip to Exeter City, currently set for Saturday, September 7. Below is a list of the Birmingham City games that could be affected by international call-ups: – Saturday, September 7 (15:00): Exeter City vs. Birmingham City – Saturday, October 12 (15:00): Birmingham City vs. Cambridge United – Saturday, November 16 (15:00): Birmingham City vs. Stevenage – Saturday, March 29 (15:00): Birmingham City vs. Shrewsbury Town For the full schedule of Birmingham City’s EFL League One fixtures for the 2024/25 season, and to read more about the team’s start against Reading, please refer to the detailed fixture list.
