Philadelphia striker snubs Ipswich town to join fayenoord despite huge amount…
Ipswich Town expressed a strong interest in signing Philadelphia striker Julián Carranza, showing their willingness to spend a significant amount of money to secure his transfer. However, the player has opted to join Feyenoord instead.
Journalist Jonathan Tannenwald reported that Ipswich Town was a serious contender for Carranza’s transfer. Despite their efforts, Carranza is now close to finalizing a move to Feyenoord, having reached an agreement with Philadelphia.
Feyenoord’s decision to bring Carranza to Europe was influenced by his impressive performance, scoring 43 goals and providing 20 assists in 95 games since joining Philadelphia in July 2022. They have outcompeted other interested clubs, with the transfer deal nearing completion.
Tannenwald mentioned that in addition to Ipswich, Werder Bremen and FSV Mainz 05 were also strong contenders for Carranza. However, the striker decided to delay his move from America.
Despite Ipswich and Werder Bremen’s willingness to invest heavily in Carranza, he felt that joining them was not the right step for his career at this time. Instead, he considers Feyenoord to be the ideal club for his development and has chosen to join them, leaving Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna to search for other striker options this summer.
