Town defender is reportedly set to leave as a permanent contract with a Scottish team approaches
According to the EADT and Ipswich Star, Scottish team Kilmarnock is very close to signing Ipswich Town center-back Corrie Ndaba to a long-term contract.
After entering the Blues’ academy in 2016, the 24-year-old made it to the main team three years later. Since then, he has spent seven stints on loan with Fleetwood Town, Salford City, and Burton Albion.
He was a member of the Rugby Park team that finished fourth in the Scottish Premiership and qualified for the Europa League the previous season.
The Irishman’s board has reportedly been persuaded by manager Derek McInness to make a bid to bring him on board permanently, according to The Daily Record, which broke the news this morning. The club also stated that they “hope to finalize a deal quickly so they can get him up and running ahead of their Europa League qualifier with Cercle Brugge.”
The Dublin-born defender’s contract at Portman Road expires in2025, therefore he will need to pay a fee to leave this summer.
The former Republic of Ireland youth international has only ever appeared in the Carabao Cup or EFL Trophy at the senior level; he hasn’t played in the league for Town.
